I was browsing the internet when I came across this heartbreaking video where a mother shares how her daughter took her own life due to cyberbullying.
Tina explains the nightmare her family endured when her daughter, Megan, was being bullied. At first, changing schools and putting distance between Megan and her aggressors was effective. However, once the bullying moved online, it became unstoppable.
What shocked me the most was discovering that behind the MySpace account that tormented Megan was not just another teenager, but a mother with two daughters...
It’s deeply troubling to realize that some families respond to bullying (or even to a perceived situation of it) with even more bullying, without considering its terrible effects.
After reading your blogpost, I watched the video you commented on. I can completely relate to the feelings you described in the post. It is just horrible to think about the consequences that bullying had for Megan. This really underlines the importance of providing help for victims and implementing interventions against bullying.
