Today I’ve been looking for some videos and content creators about bullying. We have been talking about the importance of explaining to the kids all the definitions and concepts related to school bullying and teaching them how to detect and act when they face a case of bullying around them as a victim, bystander, or aggressor, and I believe it is important the way we teach them. Usually we pay more attention when the information is relevant or attractive to us, so I think it is important that these concepts are shown to children in a way or format that interests them. This is why I think that social media is a great place to post educational videos, which teachers can use to explain to kids important concepts like bullying and all its involved things.
One of the main social platforms that kids use is YouTube, so I have been searching for some channels that had the same idea before me and are posting content related to the topic. Here I’ll present you some of them, so all the future educators can take a look and show them to their students:
Bullying No Way: This British channel is managed by the Queensland Department of Education on behalf of the Commonwealth and all states and territories, as well as national Catholic and independent schooling representatives. According to themselves, the channel supports school communities with evidence-informed resources and activities for a proactive approach to bullying prevention.
In this channel, you can find some extended videos of professionals explaining the main concepts, some short videos of kids and teenagers sharing their experiences with bullying and answering some questions, and some animated videos to comprehend everything better, showing some situations.
